Right Timing, Wrong World

Maybe it was a mercy in disguise —

that we stopped talking when the world started breaking.

Because while I was losing you,

people elsewhere were losing everything.

And somehow that perspective softened my ache.

What’s heartbreak compared to heartbreaks that have no end?

So I remind myself — it’s okay to miss you quietly,

but it’s also okay to be grateful that we stopped when we did.

Some endings are cruel.

Some are simply timely.

And this time, maybe timing was on my side.

Faithed to Happen

I remember sitting at the corner of your couch,

gazing out at the small garden.

Tears slipped from my weary eyes—

not for the ending I knew would come,

but for the way fate kept repeating itself.

Aren’t we all children of Abraham, after all?
